Recycling should be a part of everyone’s daily routine as Fort Pierce work together to reduce waste and conserve natural resources. With "Do More Blue" single stream recycling families are able to recycle various types of paper, glass, aluminum, cardboard, steel cans and plastic. Just recycle & roll!

Leave items loose in your recycle cart.

Dont’ bag your recyclables. Keeping materials loose allows them to be sorted appropriately at the MRF. If recyclables are bagged, they are often pulled off the high-speed, quality control belts as contaminant (trash).

The Recycling Process

  1. Identify curbside recycling items.
  2. Place the recycling cart at the curb before 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled collection day.
  3. Know that recyclables and household trash are collected separately

2020FlattenCardboardFLATTEN BOXES Remember to break down and flatten cardboard boxes prior to your blue recycle cart. Some boxes are too large to fit into your cart. Stack them neatly curbside and they will be collected with your bulk collection.
