    This Full Length fun, colorful and spectacular ballet is based on a fairy tale by master story-teller E.T.A. Hoffman and set to the memorable musical score of Pyotr Ilych Tchaikovsky. The Nutcracker features renowned guest artists, beautiful scenery, dazzling costumes and spectacular special effects. Clara awakens after a holiday party to find that her beloved Nutcracker doll has changed into a real live prince. The Nutcracker Prince must defeat the wicked Rat King and a despicable army of mice in a bitter war to the end. After the victory, the Prince escorts Clara as they travel to strange far off and beautiful lands to sample the exotic sights and flavors of the world. St. Lucie Ballet productions are prepared with quality and attention to every detail. The full-length production of The Nutcracker is a performance that fills the Sunrise Theatre with joyous ovations and applause.
