Original hand made crafts, stained glass, Highwaymen paintings, hand-painted glassware and much, more are available for purchase. Funds raised support education programs and local scholarships.

  4. Kid's Holiday Crafts Activity - Parents Shopping Time!

    Parents, do you need some peace and quiet while doing your holiday shopping at the Vanishing Mermaid Gift Shop? The Manatee Center invites kids of all ages to make some fantastic holiday crafts on Friday November 24 and Friday November 25 from 10am-5pm. Drop in to create a your own beach holiday ornament, a 3-D butterfly ornament, and holiday cards to send to friends and family. This is a great way to get a head-start on your holiday shopping and for kids to make some gifts of their own. We're asking for a $1 donation towards the cost of materials for these crafts. All donations support educational programs at the Manatee Center. +++Please, for the safety of your child and the staff, drop-off is only available to parents or grandparents who are shopping in the Vanishing Mermaid Gift Shop (attached to the Manatee Center) and only for the duration of shopping time there.+++

Ramon Garcia is one of the hottest emerging comedians to come out of South Florida. Just ask him. After serving in the military and realizing that getting up early was not his calling, he decided to follow his dream of stand up comedy. He quickly took to the stage where he honed his comedic skills opening for numerous comedy legends. PLUS JEFF JONES! A Headliner on most nights Jeff Jones is a 2nd generation Florida native. That is almost as rare as big foot. Jeff didn't begin performing stand-up comedy until the age of 30 when a group of coworkers who thought he was funny bought him a gift certificate to a stand up comedy class. Jeff is the kind of person who isn't afraid to say out loud what everyone else in the room in thinking. Jeff has performed throughout the southeast US and many clubs and is a favorite with the GLBT community.
