On Wednesday, September 26, a movement across the state of Florida will be put into motion whereby fathers and male caregivers are encouraged to bring their child to school, sign a pledge of involvement, and demonstrate the value of being involved in their child’s education -- Dads Take Your Child to School Day. Dads, Take Your Child to School Day is an opportunity for all men to show their commitment to the educational lives of children. It also marks the beginning of a year-long commitment by men. For this reason, the movement is an influential and celebrated event.

The Wednesday Green Market is located in Historic Downtown Fort Pierce every Wednesday from 12pm until 6pm. It's a tradition for residents and tourists alike with live entertainment & delicious food options! The Wednesday Green Market is intended to provide healthy, fresh foods and horticultural products to St. Lucie County and the surrounding areas, and to encourage commerce, entertainment and trade in Downtown Fort Pierce.

Voters who want to learn more about the proposed half-cent sales tax -- and the local improvement projects it could fund -- will have a chance to speak directly with officials from St. Lucie County, Port St. Lucie and Fort Pierce at two upcoming open house events.
These events are meant to give voters a chance to ask questions and receive information about the half-cent sales tax proposal, which will be question #14 on the November 6 ballot. There will be two open house opportunities:
• September 26 in Fort Pierce at the Fenn Center, 2000 Virginia Ave, or
• September 27 at the Port St. Lucie Community Center, 2195 SE Airoso Blvd.
