Deputy Chief Robert Ridle is a 30-year veteran of the Fort Pierce Police Department and began his career with the department in 1996 as a patrol officer. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2001 and served in the Community Policing Bureau and the Criminal Investigations Division. In 2006, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and again served in the Community Policing Bureau and the Criminal Investigations Division. During this time, Acting Chief Ridle commanded numerous specialized divisions, including the Crime Suppression Unit, Canine, Crime Analysis Unit, Police Athletic League, Community Engagement Division, and Crisis Intervention Team. He was promoted to Deputy Chief in 2019 where he commands the Administrative Services Bureau and also serves as the Emergency Manager for the City of Fort Pierce. Acting Chief Ridle holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University. He is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s prestigious National Academy, 241st session.
