A Special Needs Shelter is available for individuals whose capabilities require assistance in the management of their illness, ailment, or injury. A family member or caregiver should stay at the shelter with the individual.

The program is coordinated by the Division of Emergency Management and the St. Lucie Health Department and each application will be reviewed to verify qualification. Individuals may register themselves or a family member by visiting www.stlucieco.gov/eoc or by calling (772) 462-8100.


Doctors, providers of in-home medical equipment, and others in medically related professions can help their patients and clients with the registration form, which is available online at www.stlucieco.gov/eoc.
