More… The City of Fort Pierce Youth Advisory Council is hosting the “If I Were Elected Mayor of the City of Fort Pierce…” essay contest in celebration of Florida City Government Week. Open to middle and high school students, the contest encourages participants to imagine themselves as mayor and describe how they would positively impact their community, while also exploring the concept of Home Rule and its role in addressing local needs. This initiative aims to foster civic engagement and awareness among youth. Winners will receive gift cards ranging from $50 to $150, along with a SWAG bag and a framed resolution presented at the City Commission meeting on October 19, 2026.
